Big winner at Mrs C's Arcade putting winnings back in local economy

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Three months after opening "Mrs. C's Arcade" in the City of Rome has its first big winner - with $1,000 in gift certificates given out on Wednesday.

The arcade opened in November after a lot of red tape with the City of Rome, as the owners had to prove the games were games of "skill" not "chance."

Starla Andrews shared some of her winnings with her daughter-in-law, but said she has some local plans for the rest.

"I'm just gonna' spend them here right in town," Andrews said. "All the money's gonna' go right back into Rome."

It was actually the first time Starla visited the arcade, located on Black River Boulevard.
