SUNYIT's Quad C Project patterened after Albany's Nanoscale college
News about SUNYIT's "Quad C" Project were unveiled Thursday at the Economic Development Update held by the Genesis Group
Quad C is short for Computer Chip Commercialization Center and would be a so-called 'clean building,' such as an operating room so that no particles could get on the semi-conductor chips.
It is patterned after the college of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany, but there would be a very different type of development in the Mohawk Valley than in Albany.
"Different types of systems on the chip, so, like 3D integration, all types of testing on how you can stack those integrated parts," said Alicia Dicks of Fort Schuyler Management Corporation.
The Management Corporation was created to develop a partnership between the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany and SUNYIT in Marcy.
The building is in the design phase.
