Students compete to create the best business plan

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - SUNYIT played host to the fourth annual New York Business Plan Competition on Wednesday.

Students from across the state were given the opportunity to pitch innovative business ideas as team of would-be entrepreneurs compete to present the most compelling pitch and business plan.

"The reason New York State is doing this is to develop business in New York State, getting the students out of the colleges and develop their own businesses," said Marv Meissner, Co-Chair of the competition. "So it's exciting to see a concept develop into a flourishing business."

Ideas pitched Wednesday ranged from a limo service to a brewing company to LCD glasses.

The winners move on to the state final later this month at University of Albany.
