Turning Stone holds Culinary Job Fair

By NICOLE PITT

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Those looking to get into the field of the culinary arts got their chance to hunt for jobs on Wednesday at a Culinary Job Fair at Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

There are at least 90 openings in food and beverage and early Wednesday afternoon, 40 of those spots were filled. However, there were dozens of other positions just waiting for the perfect candidate.

The open positions aren't just seasonal jobs, and some of those who came to the fair walked away from their interview with a new job.

"We have a whole spectrum of job opportunities from higher level supervisory Sous-Chefs, on down," said Oneida Indian Nation CEO Ray Halbritter. "They are mostly all full-time. There are some part-time, and they include health benefits and 401k plans."

"I actually filled out the application at the door and I've been here for probably half hour, tops, and now I'm just waiting for all my stuff to go through," said Jennifer Cizenski, who attended the job fair. "So, it's perfect."

The job fair continued until 8 p.m. Wednesday and was held inside the Mohawk Room at the Turning Stone.
