Utica School District receives donation of new security vehicle
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica City School District has some new security wheels thanks to the generosity of many people in the community.
Oneida County donated the 2004 Crown Victoria, with Oriskany Garage in Yorkville putting in repair work, while United Auto Parts donated the parts, and JPJ Communications donated the light-bar on top of the car. Utica School Superintendent James Willis said he believes the vehicle will help boost security throughout the entire school district. "It's actually going to help us with security for the various buildings in providing additional security for them," Willis said. "We have a car right now, but it's in very bad shape and actually broke down this past week, too. So, this will really help us out tremendously." School Officials held a news conference at Proctor High School Thursday to publicly thank everyone who donated the car and services for it. |
