NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Brides in Central New York now have a new option when it comes to the hunt for the perfect gown.

A new shop has opened for business in the New Hartford Shopping Center, with the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce and local dignitaries on hand for an official ribbon cutting on PhiaJames Wedding on Wednesday morning.

The store is owned and operated by Renee Hartnett, who named the store after her two kids - Sophia and James.

The atmosphere evokes the feel of walking into a New York City boutique, but without the high prices. It's complete with a private dressing room and runway for the bride and her family, all in an effort to make the experience extra special.

"We just wanted to create that experience that every bride wants, what every bride sees on those shows on TV, Hartnett said. "We now have, here in New Hartford."

PhiaJames has bridal gowns, as well as bridesmaids, flower girl, mother of the bride and all the necessary accessories.

It is located in the old Harris Brothers location at the shopping center.
