Remington Arms expands again, 100 new jobs added

ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - Remington Arms has expanded once again.

The Ilion plant has added 100 news jobs and are now manufacturing a portion of the Marlin product line, a line of sport rifles.

The expansion comes after Remington Arms' parent company relocated a portion of its Connecticut operation to Ilion. The relocation was partially funded by two state grants that State Senator James Seward (51st District) helped secure.

Nearly all 100 of the new employees are from Central New York.

Over the past 8 months, Remington has trucked in the rifle manufacturing equipment from Connecticut.

Ilion Plant Manager Jim Rabbia says it has been a hectic year, but Remington is excited to be running a thriving manufacturing business at a time when manufacturing is struggling in New York State.
