UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - MVCC is donating a substantial amount of food to the Food Bank of Greater Utica.

Food Bank President Mark Wolber didn't know immediately what was donated, but officials are happy to receive food they say is sorely needed. With high poverty levels in Utica and unemployment still high, services here are needed more than ever before, Wolber said.

The food is free for those in need, and Wolber says is generally nutritional as well.

"The food we get and are able to distribute for the most part is healthful food it's not junk food, it's not fast food," Wolber said. "It's healthful food and people will use that to feed their family and feed their children."

Wolber says the food bank is running low on a lot of supplies. Food donations as well as clothing donations are needed.
