SALINA, N.Y. (AP) - Lockheed Martin says it's cutting 166 positions at its suburban Syracuse facility.
Lockheed Martin Missions Systems spokesman Keith Little says 72 of the positions cut at the Salina plant are being vacated by workers who accepted buyouts and left voluntarily. Another 94 people were notified that they'll be let go in two weeks.
The company says the cuts are part of an effort to reduce its workforce by 740 people nationally and realign the skills of its workforce with its current contracts.
Those being let go at the Salina facility can apply for other positions in the company.
