Source: Assembly line at Orion Bus in Oriskany officially closed

ORISKANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - According to a source at Orion Bus in Oriskany, the assembly line at the plant is officially closed.

Union representatives and company leaders have yet to confirm the report, but the source tells NEWSChannel 2 that all remaining production workers have now been laid off.

In April, employees of Orion were told that the bus production plant would be shutting down within the year after the parent company, Daimler, announced it was getting out of the bus manufacturing business. Shortly after the announcement, layoffs began.

Previously, the company told NEWSChannel 2 that some workers would stay on for parts and service.
