Hanna encourages middle schoolers to seek STEM careers

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - More than 60 middle schoolers gathered Friday inside the auditorium at Clinton Middle School as Congressman Richard Hanna addressed the eighth-graders, encouraging them to pursue a career in the field of science, technology engineering and math, otherwise known as STEM.

He says those jobs are ready and available in Central New York.

"I have been working in congress to prioritize stem education and highlight the role it plays in making America's economy competitive in the 21st century," Congressman Hanna said. "we need to create a national focus on education in stem-related fields, which we know are vital in today's global economy."

A question and answer session was held with the Congressman after his remarks.
