Slight rise in state tests scores based on Common Core

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) -- If you live in the city of Utica plan on strapping a backpack on your five year old this fall. Gov. Cuomo signed a bill Wednesday giving the school district legal grounds to enforce mandatory kindergarten.

Remsen awaits teacher contract to submit teacher evaluation plan

REMSEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - Remsen Central Schools is one of nine school districts left in New York State to not have submitted a teacher evaluation agreement. The deadline for them to submit is January 17th. Interim Superintendent Carl Klossner says the plan is riding on a teacher contract that's been delayed due to transitions in the district.
