Rome City School District budget passes by 70 percent margin

By WKTV News

ROME, N.Y.(WKTV) - The unofficial numbers are in. The Rome City School District has passed its school budget by a margin of 70 percent. Still no word on who will be elected to the school board. That's because there were so many write-ins for the candidates who failed to meet the filing deadline.

1,100 people voted, "Yes."

476 voted, "No."

The numbers will become official Wednesday night as long as they are authorized by the school board at it's regular meeting.

Tonight's school board meeting will be held at Staley Upper Elementary at 6:30pm.

The votes for those write-in candidates should be tallied up at that point.
