Rome school board members approve resolution to shuffle students

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - School board members in the Rome City School District approved a resolution Wednesday night to re-shuffle staff and students to make way for renovations at Strough Middle School.

The plans to relocate the students for the 2013 - 2014 school year are as follows:

Grade 5 students will remain in their respective neighborhood schools in accordance with established elementary attendance zones and in accordance with established related transfer policies.

Grade 6 students will be relocated to to Forth Stanwix Elementary School.

Grade 7 and 8 students will be relocated to Staley Upper Elementary School.

The school district held public discussions on these options at its board meetings on September 5th, 12th, and 19th.
