Albany Elementary School holds end of the year carnival

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A long school year at Albany Elementary School in Utica came to an end on Wednesday, but before the report cards were handed out, the 500 students got quite the treat.

The school held its annual carnival on Wednesday, complete with bounce houses, popcorn, and even dunk booths.

The heat did not seem to slow anyone down and all the money raised in the concessions also helps the school's ongoing activities and trips throughout the school year.

"The kids have a lot of fun and it also helps raise money for PTO, kids to go on field trips and do fun activities throughout the school year," said Josie Oliver, a reading teacher at Albany Elementary School.

This is the fifth year the carnival has been held, and if the kids' reaction was any indication, it certainly won't be the last.
