Benton Hall students walk to raise money, awareness

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Roughly 400 kids at Benton Hall Academy in Little Falls experienced nice weather as well as the nice feeling of helping others Thursday.

A quasi-marathon at Benton Hall Academy raised money and awareness related to the Boson Marathon bombings in April.

An eight year old boy was killed that day, which truly hit home for the kids. All of the money raised Thursday goes to the expenses facing the victims of the bombing.

One teacher, Lisa Rice, admits that it's a tough lesson to teach.

"We at Benton Hall Academy strive to have our kids in fundraising events," Rice said. "We fund raise every month for things or somebody or a charity and this came about and we said, 'let's do it,' you know, let's help those who need the help."

With three trips around the park and a lot of singing, almost $200 is going toward the cause.
