NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Flocks of flamingos are popping up throughout the New York Mills School District as a fundraiser put on by the newly revived School Foundation.
A person whose yard has been covered with flamingos has to make a donation in order to have the birds moved off their property and on to someone else's, and as the person makes the donation, they get to choose the next target.
"So far everybody we've worked with have asked us to flock someone else, so it's working out very well," said Steven King, President of the New York Mills School Foundation.
Most of the donations have been between $10 and $50 and the money raised will go towards future projects.
