Mohawk and Ilion residents vote on final merger proposal

Mohawk and Ilion residents are voting Tuesday on a final proposal to merge the two school districts.

If the districts do combine, $42 million dollars of incentive aid would be distributed over the next 14 years.

The funds would go towards curriculum and program improvements.

Each voter will be deciding on a proposition to combine the two school districts, the number of members on the new Board of Education, and how long their terms would be.

If the merger vote fails, the last two propositions will not be counted.

Polls are open until 8 p.m. Tuesday night. You must vote in your home district.
