Event Description

Colgate University Department of Music is pleased to announce the start of the 2012/2013 Concert Series.

This year the season will begin on Friday, September 14th at 7:30 p.m. in Colgate Memorial Chapel with a performance by the university’s organist, Glenn Kime. The program, titled An Evening of Germanic Organ Music, will feature works of Bach, Mozart and Hindemith.

A graduate of Syracuse University, his teachers include Will Meadlee, Gillian Weir, and Cherry Rhoades. He won First Prize in the Arthur Poister competition, Syracuse, and was a finalist in the Clarence Mader competition, Los Angeles. In his solo and ensemble work he has been featured on television and radio and has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Northern Europe, and China.

Glenn has performed for conventions of the Organ Historical Society and the American Guild of Organists. His solo CD “Paris by the Bay” features symphonies of Dupré and Vierne, and was recorded at Old First Church, San Francisco, CA.

The concerts are free and all are most welcome.
