Event Description

SUNYIT will present "Threading a Nursing Legacy into the 21st Century," a program for nurses, nurse practitioners, nursing students, and interested health care professionals, Wednesday, April 24, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., in SUNYIT’s Wildcat Field House.

The keynote speaker will be internationally renowned nursing leader Loretta C. Ford, creator and implementer of the first nurse practitioner model and training program. Ford, who began her nursing career in 1942, is credited with transforming the profession of nursing and making health care more accessible to the general public.

Sessions will focus on a variety of topics, and the event has been submitted to the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association for approval to award American Nurses Credentialing Center contact hours.
