Event Description

nushWALK originated during a time of grief when a celebration of a life was greatly needed. On February 12, 2013 Anusha “Nush” Chimtim Yagey, 16, crossed over due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on his way to school with his brother.

The Holland Patent and surrounding communities arrived en masse in support of the family, school and community demonstrating the true meaning of love, support and compassion. The Yagey family wishes to give back and pay it forward.

We the Yagey family, Mike, Sharon (Roback) and Joey, and the Roback family, INVITE YOU, October 19th, 2013 to our first annual nushWALK. We will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Thompson Rd. in Holland Patent at the Holland Patent High School. Walk alongside us not only to honor Anusha’s memory, but in remembrance of your cherished beloveds who has also left this beautiful earth.

Bring to a place of honoring and remembrance the life of someone who lives in your heart by wearing a t-shirt with that special someone’s name on it, carry a picture, hold a memento, a banner, or sing a song! A memory board will be available for posting your memories and pictures. On Thanksgiving 2012 Anusha spoke of his gratitude for food. Anusha spent his first 7 years in an orphanage in Thailand where his food was often taken from him by the “bigger boys”.

This Thanksgiving while helping with dishes Anusha expressed heartfelt gratitude for having the freedom to choose from the bounty before him and for the ability to leave the room and come back to an unscathed plate. In celebration of Anusha, please bring a
non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food bank.
