Event Description

RICHARD BLANCO is the first Latino immigrant poet chosen to read at an inauguration and also the youngest. Just a couple of months before his birth, Richard’s mother exiled from Cuba to Spain. Shortly after his birth, Richard and his family arrived in the United States. Richard received a degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts in Creative Writing.

Richard Blanco is performing at Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University on December 15 with proceeds benefiting the Building Futures Foundation and the Arc of Onondaga Foundation.
