Event Description

On Thursday, Sept. 25, Film@UC will present the 2013 film “Ai Weiwei: The Fake Case” as part of Utica College’s Cultural Events series.

Picking up where the 2012 documentary "Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry" ended, the internationally-known contemporary artist, dissident and gadfly returns home from 81 days of secret Chinese government detention only to face a nerve-racking game of chess with the authorities, who keep coming up with new charges against him.

This film is free and open to the public, and will be shown in the Macfarlane Auditorium in the college’s DePerno Hall at 7 p.m. For more information, call (315) 792-3047 or visit utica.edu/culture.
