UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Kirkland Girl Scouts presented a check to The Salvation Army on Tuesday. The money was raised during a spaghetti dinner the girls hosted over the weekend.

The dinner was a huge success. The group presented a check for $1,375.

At the dinner the girls were very hands on, helping out with the raffles and setting tables. They tell us it was also a learning experience. "It was pretty fun. It was surprising to see a lot of people. Over a hundred people.," said Brin Procopro from Kirkland Troop 115. "It was pretty big. I'm actually really happy we helped a lot of people.

"They help us and we should help them back," said Girl Scout Alia.

There were actually 300 people who attended the dinner and many of them made donations that day as well.
