Power restored to limited number of Mohawk residents

MOHAWK, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Village of Mohawk is working to restore power after their municipal substation was damaged in the floods.

Saturday, the State Commissioner of Homeland Security said he would bring to large generators in to at least restore power to some homes temporarily.

Sunday, officials said that some residents did have power restored in the afternoon, but only a limited number. They ask that air conditioners and pool pumps not be turned on.

Residents are asked to limit consumption of the power until it is restored on a more permanent basis.
