UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - More than 200 people attended the Utica Mayor's Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon at Danielle's at Valley View, many of them dressed in the color pink.

When guests arrived they were greeted by a selection of hors d'ourves as well as gift basket raffles and a Chinese auction.

The luncheon was organized by Mayor Robert Palmieri's wife, Susan Palmieri.

"It's awe-inspiring," Susan Palmieri said. "You can't imagine what word is strong enough to celebrate these women who have fought the fight and won and fought the fight and didn't win and those who have set the pace for a cure."

Dozens of local businesses and city employees chipped in with donations for the auctions and all of the proceeds will to benefit the Susan G. Komen Fund.
