Contestants to run up Spencer Hill for Dolgeville's Biggest Loser

By WKTV News

DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A combined 552 pounds has been lost so far by those participating in the Dolgeville Biggest Loser competition and on Thursday, September 27, contestants want to show exactly what it takes to get in shape by making a run up Spencer Hill.

Following the run, there will be a 20 minute community workout.

"It's like a boot camp," said Bart Murnion of Stoney Creek Fitness, organizer of the event. "We have tires. We have a big long box we call the coffin that everyone jumps on, community box jumps. It's just a lot of fun. It gets your heart rate up and burn a lot of fat."

Murnion says that people will begin to gather at 5 p.m. at Main Street and Spencer Street in Dolgeville and that the run starts at 6 pm.

During the event a food drive will be going on where attendees can bring non-perishable food items to benefit the Dolgeville Food Pantry.

More than 200 people are expected to attend the event, Murnion said.
