Purchase contract sent out for Country Manor as sales moves forward

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - The sale of Country Manor in Herkimer County, is moving forward as a contract for purchase has been sent to Advanced Healthcare Management.

Advanced Healthcare will purchase Country Manor for $335,000 over the next five years. If they stay for five years, the county says they won't owe a dime, but Advanced Healthcare must keep all 29 residents, regardless of their ability to pay. With that promise in the contract, officials say this deal benefits everybody.

"They're committed to that," said Herkimer County Administrator James Wallace. "It's in the contract that they'll do that, keep the people there that are eligible to be there, which is great for us, saves the taxpayers about$ 550,000 a year. So we look at it as a win-win for the residents and the taxpayers."

Wallace says the contract should be back by the end of the week.
