For the first time since it was built, the public got the chance to tour one of the homes of cellist Mistlav Rostropovich. From the outside you know the home of the famous cellist is unlike any you have ever seen and as you step inside his private retreat your imagination begins to run wild.

Jason Safford and Sylvin Douglas Lyn are the proud owners of the home, as well as of the Gelston Castle. The New York City businessmen had a wide range of thoughts when they first set eyes on their new purchase. They have a lot of ideas for the property but they do not want to do it alone. So take a trip to the home and castle to see what potential you might find in the property.

While Rostropovich may not have used the home often, he spared no expense to keep his private getaway private! Carl Lane worked as Head of Security for Rostropovich's family in the 1980s and spoke about his experiences today. He says rumors about the famous cellist's ties with the CIA or the Russian KGB are mostly rumors and that the maestro stayed at the home only one to two times a year, which may have started many of the legends and stories. Lane says there are some high-tech security features incorporated into the home, but he would not share those secrets with us!
