Forestport teen charged after breaking car windows and threatening father with a knife

FORESTPORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Forestport teen has been charged with multiple offenses after a domestic incident Monday in which he threatened his father with a knife.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit, the Sheriff's Road Patrol was called to Dutch Hill Road around 6:30 p.m. on Monday night for a verbal domestic.

Upon the arrival of Sheriff Deputies, the verbal domestic had turned physical after Mitchell Burdick, 19, of the residence, took a shovel and smashed the rear sliding window, the driver's side door window and the driver's side mirror.

According to sheriff investigators, Burdick then returned to the inside of the residence and grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened his father - John Burdick Sr.

Once deputies arrived on the scene, Mitchell Burdick was taken into custody and brought to the Barneveld Field Office for questioning. He was then charged with the following:

*Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree
*Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
*Menacing in the Second Degree.

Burdick was arraigned in front of a Town of Trenton Justice and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in Lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond bail.
