YOU WITNESS NEWS: Sauquoit Fire Destroys Local Businessman's Home

By Andrew Donovan

On Sunday, a fire destroyed a local business owner's residence, leaving him and his family homeless. The fire broke out around 2 p.m. at the Fahy family home on Campbell Street in Sauquoit. The family owns the business Fahy Kitchens.

According to firefighters the blaze started in a garage connected to the home and quickly spread throughout the structure. Multiple fire departments responded to the fire including Sauquoit, Clayville and Willowvale. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Crews were on the scene until at least 6 p.m. investigating the cause.

The Red Cross is assisting the Fahy family as they do many who lose their homes due to fire and other unforeseen events. They need your help to help others. If you would like to know more, give the Oneida County Chapter of the Red Cross a call at 315-733-4666.

We had viewers submit multiple photos from the fire in Sauquoit.
