"Ho Ho Hotline" puts kids in touch with Santa Claus

UTICA - Santa appeals to all age groups and today he and his wife, Mrs. Claus made a special visit to Utica.

For 13 years now, Saint Luke's Home Adult Day Care program has hosted to the "Ho Ho Hotline".

In addition to singing Christmas carols and playing games, kids call to talk to Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. Sometimes the kids have a conversation with the people who attend the day care program and explain what the hot toy of the season is.

"The holiday can be a hard time," said Leslie Lawrence, the program director. "And we have a lot of medical needs. So, it is the kind of program that makes them feel good about themselves it's giving back to the community that makes them feel better."

The "Ho Ho Hotline" is open every year for the two weeks leading up to Christmas, every day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Santa can be reached by calling 315-624-4525
