14-year-old girl from Mohawk dies after being hit by car

GERMAN FLATTS, N.Y. (WKTV) - New York State Police say a teenage girl from Mohawk is the victim who died in Friday night's car-pedestrian accident on Route 5S in German Flatts.

According to State Troopers, the victim is 14-year-old Kali Guyer, who lives along Route 5S in Mohawk.

Police say Guyer attempted to cross State Route 5S and ran directly into the path of a car, driven by 24-year-old Brent M. Keuhn of Little Falls.

The accident happened around 8:00 Friday night. Police closed Route 5S at Griffin Road in both directions.

Police say it appears the teenager failed to observe the vehicle when she ran out into the street. Guyer was pronounced deceased at the scene and was transported to the Herkimer County coroner pending an autopsy.

The investigation is continuing.
