Mayor Roefaro Throws Charity Ball At Utica Public Library

Thirty-three years ago Mayor David Roefaro earned a paycheck at the Utica public library but tonight it was his chance to give back. Over 860 people circulated throughout the historical library for the Charity Ball.

There were three different floors filled with music and over fifty- thousand dollars in donated food, drinks and decorations. Cindy Roefaro, the Mayor's wife, came up with the idea of a charity ball, and Mayor Roefaro says they will make this an annual event, with a different charity every year.

Proceeds form the event, including over forty-thousand dollars in ticket sales, will benefit children's programs at the library.
