NYRI: Alternative Plan Not An Option

New York Regional Interconnect has delivered a lengthy document to the states Public Service Commission.

The papers reject the possibility of building the power line along the New York State Thruway as Governor Spitzer suggested.

NYRI says it is not a feasible alternative route under federal law. The price of the project has also jumped to more than two billion dollars.

NYRI is proposing a stretch of powers lines that would run from Oneida County to Orange County.
