'50s-style restaurant to open in Remsen
REMSEN - A blast from the past for Remsen residents as a new restaurant prepares to open.
The Remsen General Store opened in early February, and now the couple who owns it is getting ready to open a '50s style hamburger and ice cream shop called "The Soda Fountain." The owner - Steve Boucher - says he hopes people from all over the area will be drawn to the restaurant for its nostalgic atmosphere. "It's a fifties style hamburger and ice cream restaurant with red and silvery vinyl seats, boomerang finish, milkshakes and an actual original soda fountain that we're having created for it so we can make homemade sodas," Boucher said. The Soda Fountain will open for business this spring. |
