Hannaford customers' credit and debit card information hacked

By ANDREA BULLARD

A breach in security has put millions of Hannaford shoppers at risk. The supermarket is confirming that all of it's 165 stores in the northeast had credit and debit card information hacked.

They say more than 4 million credit and debit card numbers were potentially exposed to fraud.

The president of the company issued this statement on their web site:

"Hannaford is cooperating with credit and debit card issuers to ensure those customers who may be affected by the theft are protected. We also alerted law enforcement authorities, and are working closely with them to help identify those responsible."

That's it? You mean to tell them that all those people have had their identity hacked into? Then I would suggest that Hannaford get a better security system in their computers at ALL stores.
