Dozens gather in memory of local teacher
Dozens of students, parents and relatives gathered Monday night in memory of a local teacher that unexpectedly passed away last week. With the lighting of a candle, the group walked from Rutger Street to the Albany Street School, where Frank Giannandrea was a teacher's assistant. Those we spoke with say Giannandrea will best be remembered for his kindness with the children, his cookie monster costume at Halloween and bringing the girls basketball team this year to a winning season. The group walked past Giannandrea's mothers home, and one of the two young children he left behind, held a candle for her father. Participants say that his spirit and memory will live on. An educational fund has been set up for the Giannandrea children, who's mother also passed away a little more than a year ago. Most Popular |
