Man accused of sexual abuse of a 6 and 8 year old given more time to think over plea offer
UTICA - A Rome man accused of sexually abusing two boys has been given more time to accept or reject a plea offer. Phillip King was scheduled to appear in Oneida County Court today to consider the offer. In the meantime, the lawyers are proceeding with the case. I was just as angered about this case when I first heard about it, but we have to remember that there is a big difference between being "accused of sexual abuse" and committing the act. It's easy to say "lock him up, throw away the key" but have we read about any hard evidence that has been displayed against this man? Put yourselves or a loved one in the "accused" shoes, would you want to be responsible for sending a possibly innocent man to jail?
