NEW HARTFORD - Two men have been charged, and more arrests could be pending after a dispute at the Seneca Mobile Manor on State Route 5 in New Hartford led to a Wednesday afternoon stabbing.
On Wednesday afternoon, around 4:45 p.m., New Hartford Police 911 Call Center received a report of a dispute at lot #206 of the Seneca Mobile Manor on State Route 5.
Once they arrived, police found the male resident of the address, who told police that four males that he knew had entered his residence, leading to the start of an argument. The argument escalated to a physical dispute, at which time, the resident grabbed a knife.
During the fight, the resident stabbed one of the other four males that were in his residence - Cory R. Williams, 19, of Frankfort. After the stabbing, the four males fled the residence before police had arrived.
According to the New Hartford Police, the resident was punched and kicked numerous times in the head, face and body, as well as being struck with a metal pole, suffering numerous bumps, bruises, and abrasions during the fight.
He was later treated at Oneida City Hospital and released.
Williams - the male subject who was stabbed during the fight - later received treatment for his stab wound at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica and was later released.
Upon being released, Williams was transported to the New Hartford Police Department and subsequently charged with assault in the second-degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree, and criminal mischief in the third-degree.
Williams was arraigned in New Hartford Town Court and released pending a future court appearance.
Also arrested was Steven R. Muller, 24, of Utica. Police charged Muller with assault in the third-degree. He was released with an appearance pending a future court appearance.
New Hartford Police say the investigation is ongoing, and there could be additional arrests.
