Children's Miracle Network receives $11,000 donation at New Hartford Price Chopper

By ANDREA BULLARD

NEW HARTFORD - The Children's Miracle Network is more than $11,000 richer this afternoon, all with the help of "Produce for Kids" and Price Chopper Supermarkets.

Money was raised through the "Produce for Kids" campaign which teams up with supermarkets and the produce industry. Sponsors make a donation from the money they make when you buy certain foods.

The program is in its second year, and this year they raised more money than ever before.

"The success for this year is just getting more information out to the community," said Jody Plonski, Zone Director. "It has really helped us a lot and we have some plans for this next coming year that will give a better impact. So, we're hoping to do better than $11,000 for this coming year."

The program hopes to raise more money this year. They are looking at using more publications, word of mouth, and with the help of Faxton - St. Luke's Healthcare.

I think it is wonderful that Walmart is so closely involved with such a good cause. They are a tremendous support of the well being of our local children and should be proud of their accomplishments. They have definitely made a difference in the community! Kudos to Walmart and thank you!
