Police search for suspect after pizza delivery person robbed

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Rome Police are investigating the robbery of a pizza delivery person that occurred on the 800 block of Croton Street in Rome shortly before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24.

Authorities said the male delivery person attempted to make a food delivery on Croton Street when he was approached by an unknown male suspect. The suspect was described as a black male, between 20 and 25 years old, wearing a dark colored hooded jacket and dark pants.

According to police, the suspect implied that he had a gun and threatened the victim, demanding the victim's money, cell phone and car keys. After receiving those items, the suspect stole the victim's car and fled the area.

Police said once the suspect was out of sight, the victim went to a nearby residence and called police.

The vehicle was later found abandoned near the intersection of Bloomfield Street and North George Street in Rome. The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of this incident.
