Oneida County Executive proclaims Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr., announced Tuesday that he has proclaimed the week of April 13th – April 19th as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Oneida County. “The men and women who take the phone calls and dispatch police, fire and emergency services units occupy one of the most critical roles in the community security system in Oneida County,” Picente said. “Every day, the residents of every community in our county depend upon the professionalism, compassion, expertise, and dedication of the men and women who are our call takers and dispatchers.” “To citizens facing an emergency, there is nothing as important as dealing with a calm, understanding and reassuring voice on the other end of the telephone during an emergency,” Picente said. “Getting the right information to dispatch the right units is a vital function, and these men and women perform with distinction day and night, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.” Most Popular
