Two charged with attempted murder after early morning shooting in Utica

UTICA - At approximately 12:50 a.m., Utica Police were dispatched to Addington Place for a call of shots fired. A short time later, the police department was contacted by a local hospital with a report that a person had come to the emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Jerome Adams, 23, was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder and head. He was treated and released.

Charged for attempted murder in regards to the incident are Quentin J. Curry, 18, of Utica, and Leshawn K. Thomas, 17, of Utica. Both are currently waiting arraignment.

"We were fortunate enough to make an arrest only five hours after the incident," Public Safety Commissioner Daniel LaBella said.

Police say the investigation is still continuing.
