Utica man charged after weekend robbery attempts within several hours of each other

UTICA - Police say a Utica man had quite a busy Saturday night, after allegedly robbing or attempting to rob three different places in a matter of hours.

But thanks to a cab driver and police work, the man is behind bars.

Police say Thomas Paulson of Schuyler Street is now facing one count of robbery in the first-degree, as well as three counts of attempted robbery.

They say Paulson is currently on parole, but his previous convictions are unknown.

According to police reports, Paulson is said to have stated he had a weapon at each place he went to, but never actually displayed a weapon.

Police say Paulson robbed the Grace Chinese Restaurant on Genesee Street around 9:15 p.m. Saturday night.

He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Then around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, police say he entered the Good-N-Easy on Whitesboro Street, but didn't steal anything.

Just 25 minutes later, they say Paulson attempted to rob the Nice-N-Easy on Court Street.

On his way out, police say he attempted to rob a patron outside.

ohh where are all the people bashing the youth? huh? what? maybe because this is what you are teaching the children... we learn by example- why dont the adults take responsibility for their actions & then maybe we can work on our future... im not seeing where anyone has a problem with this? but last week it was all the uproar about our community but noone says anything about the grown adults pulling these stunts? i think maybe they should grow up first...
