NORWICH (AP) - The retrial of an upstate New York man charged with killing his wife in 2002 is being delayed until September.

Judge Martin Smith had rejected a public defender's request for an adjournment in the retrial of 39-year-old Peter Wlasiuk on Monday. Smith changed his mind Wednesday and approved a postponement.

Wlasiuk was scheduled to go on trial Monday in Chenango County
Court but his defense attorney wants a new round of tests on Patricia Wlasiuk's blood.

Wlasiuk was convicted in 2003 of killing his wife and staging it to look like she had crashed into a lake and drowned. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison but the conviction was overturned in 2006.
