Car accident kills one and sends another to the hospital

ONEIDA - Oneida County Police are investigating a fatal car accident in Oneida.

18-year-old Michael Krowicki was traveling north on Sayles Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle. The car then left the road, striking a tree.

Ryan Aldasch age 16, a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Upstate Medical in Syracuse where he later died of his wounds.

Another passenger in the car, 16-year-old Robert Eckhard, was taken to Oneida Health Care Center minor injuries.

This case is under investigation, charges are pending.

WOW, I CANT BELIEVE WHAT IM READING. LET ME JUST SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT FIRST, THERE WAS NOT ANY DRUGS OR ALCOHOL INVOLVED. IT WAS A MATTER OF 3 BOYS BEING NORMAL TEENAGE BOYS. MY NEPHEW DIDNT WAKE UP THAT MORNING AND SAY TO HIMSELF THAT HE WANTED TO KILL RYAN. YOU PEOPLE THAT SAY, HE SHOULD GO TO JAIL FOR A LONG TIME OR GIVE HIM 10 YEARS, WOW PATHETIC I MUST SAY. RYANS PARENTS LOVE MY NEPHEW AND THEY DONT BLAME HIM, SO IN MY EYES WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS DOESNT EVEN MATTER. R.I.P. RYAN

This is a horrible tragedy for all involved. Good can come from bad---if others make safer choices after this, if families are able to find strength and solace from each other, if everyone keeps Ryan's joyful memory alive and chooses to move forward in a positive way--then the good will happen. Tell people when you love them, be kind to strangers..pass it forward.

unfortunately everyone thinks it won't happen to them. You can tell kids and adults to drive more careful but they will not until something happens to them. I do believe 16 is to young to drive alone, their still kids, putting others in danger.

I am a student at OHS and have known both Mike and Ryan. They were both great guys and Ryan wouldn't want all the hate that is going around to exist. This was an accident with deadly results. What is wrong with you people Mike's family is going through grief as well as Ryan's and Ryan's dad himself said not to blame Mike because they were best friends. If his father is able to understand and support Mike shouldn't all of you! R.I.P. Ryan! Our prayers are with you!

to the OSH student to tell people to think about their mistakes is wrong! driving that fast is rediculous and its a given that an accident will happen he should be punnished for what he did i mean he helped kill a friend!

Ryan was a GREAT kid and had alot going for him between baseball and school. And for the imbusils saying that this wasn't an accident and saying the kid should go to jail...I hope you think about the past mistakes you have made, the guilt alone is enough to make him suffer ten times worse then jail. ~We All Love You Ryan~

I live right where the crash happened and was one of the first on scene. No one deserves this fate, but I have to say being a resident of Sayles, people are flying down our hill all the time trying to get air. We have alot of kids on bikes in the area, I am suprised this has not happened sooner. What a shame for everyone.

I go to OHS as well and i just think that is important to keep the families in our prays, not just that of ryan but mike and his family as well. this was an accident. he does not need to be reminded of his mistake. wont the guilt he will live with be punishment enough. these comments about slowing down and this happening all the time are not necessary. we read what happened and do not need hear the criticism. Hopefully we can just come together and pray and be supportive.

There is no reason for speeds that can kill a passenger in a vehicle inside of a residential area like that. He must have been going well over twice the speed limit. This kid deserves a LONG time in jail after killing someone and putting so many others at risk.

I go to oneida high school and suprisingly, these weren't bad kids. I am 100% certain there was no drugs or alcohol involved. Ryan was a great kid and nice to everyone. Mike and Rob are the same. It's sad that this happened. The community over here in Oneida has really come together. RIP.
