It's no secret - the Mohawk Valley has a number of talented and creative residents. Now, one agency wants to help fuel their business dreams.

The Mohawk Valley Edge business plan competition started with 13 entries, and is now narrowed down to four. They are competing for $10,000 dollars cash and $10,000 of professional services.

Let's meet one of the finalists - RJT Products.

"It keeps you vitalized and rejuvenated and where they say running your own business is hard work," said Joyce Finnegan, owner. "If it's something you love. It's fun. It's easy."

It started as a convenient laundry solution for the family, and is on its way to international success. RJT Products manufactures eco-friendly dry cleaning bags.

"This business has literally taken over the house," said Finnegan. "There is great potential and enormous growth because the product we have does span a multitude of markets - the hospitality market, the travel market, the home market."

Joyce Finnegan is the brains behind the idea.

The ultimate travel accessory, as it's called, comes in a variety sizes, styles and prices.

"We ended up at the International Hotel Trade Show and that's where we met a number of hotelers that were faced with the problem with the disposable laundry bags," she said.

RJT Products is currently working on its 6th patent, so if the company wins the Mohawk Valley Edge Competition, you can guess where the prize money will go.

"Part of the money will be applied towards patents," she said. "We have a number of provisional patents and to formalize those it does cost several thousand dollars."
