Preswick Glen officially opens its doors in New Hartford

NEW HARTFORD - A retirement community years in the making is finally opening its doors in New Hartford.

Though 56% of residents have already moved in to Preswick Glen, Friday's ribbon cutting marks its official grand opening. Preswick Glen features both apartment and cottage style housing for seniors.

Preswick Glen's administrator says retirement communities are growing in popularity.

"There's certainly a need for independent living communities in our area, and we stepped to the forefront and brought this project together," said Rose McGauley, Preswick Glen Administrator.

Preswick Glen is affiliated with Presbyterian Homes and Services.
