Pollster John Zogby says a matter of when, not if, Hillary Clinton drops out

By PAT BAILEY

Cable networks and Barack Obama supporters both are speculating and suggesting, that Hillary Clinton should drop out of the race for the White House.

International pollster John Zogby says that day is soon coming.

That has been Hillary Clinton's stance the past few weeks, but now as the final five primaries loom, the chances of her getting the nomination are slimmer and slimmer.

"Frankly, even if she were to make a case that Senator Obama is not prepared or fit to be president, suppose that big story came out for example," said John Zogby. "I'm not sure that the delegates would go to her despite the number of votes she got. I think there is just too much baggage."

Too much baggage and too little support - something that has plagued her since day one.

"As far as the voters are concerned, she has really never had a majority of democrats," Zogby said. "And when it went one-on-one with Obama, she has lost more than she has won in terms of the primaries and total votes."

John Zogby says Hillary Clinton has no other alternative, and in fact may have gone on too long as it is. But says she will be back - it may not be in four years, especially if Obama becomes president, but Zogby says at some point Hillary Clinton will run again.

"She is a Clinton," Zogby said. "'Lose' does not fit in their DNA make-up at all."

Zogby expects Clinton to drop out roughly one week after the final primary June 3.
